Volunteering is the experience of a lifetime.

Hospice volunteers find a great deal of satisfaction in helping others and making an important difference in the lives of the patients and families they meet through hospice. Volunteers become a friend and companion to patients and their families offering a source of strength, encouragement and support.
Whatever your talents, interests or skills...hospice has a place for you. Whether it be a couple of hours per week or a few days per month, we will find a need you can fill. Different Areas of Sharing

Once accepted as a hospice volunteer, there are numerous areas in which you can share your time:
  • Sharing time directly with a patient or family. (This consist of one on one time with the patients. You must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer in this area)
  • Social Visits with the patients
  • Prepare an occasional meal
  • Help with household errands
  • Read to the patients
Many times the most important part of volunteering is just being there to listen.

Sharing Time through In-Direct Involvement:
  • Sending cards/notes of encouragement and support
  • Helping make craft projects for the patients
  • Answering the phone
  • Baking or sewing
  • Filing, making copies or stuffing envelopes
Sharing through Special Projects:
  • Assisting with fundraisers
  • Assisting with special programs, such as our Annual Memorial Service and much much more.
How do I become a volunteer?

Volunteer involvement is flexible and can be tailored to fit your availability. All volunteers wishing to share time must complete volunteer orientation. Those wishing to share time directly with a patient are required to complete special training prior to working with a patient.
